Every installer in the Solar Connect network is licensed, insured, and has a track record we've already checked. That's the basic homework so you can spend your time comparing quotes, not credentials.

What "vetted" actually means here

"Vetted local installer" gets thrown around. On Solar Connect it has a specific meaning. Before an installer can take quotes through the marketplace, we require all of the following on file:

  • Active contractor's license in every state they serve. License numbers are recorded on each installer's profile so you can verify them with your state board.
  • General liability and workers' compensation insurance. Both have to be current.
  • NABCEP certification or manufacturer-issued certifications (e.g. Tesla Certified Installer, Enphase Certified, SolarEdge Pro) shown on the profile where applicable.
  • At least two years in business under the same legal entity, or evidence of senior installers carrying that experience.
  • No open disciplinary action from the state licensing board at the time of listing.

If any of those drop off, the installer comes off the marketplace. The goal isn't a hand-picked list. It's a floor you don't have to check yourself.
