Does anyone in your home have medical needs that require electricity?
Examples: home dialysis, oxygen concentrator, powered wheelchair, insulin pump refrigeration, medically necessary temperature control. Medical Baseline Allowance customers automatically qualify.
Is your home in a High Fire Threat District (Tier 2 or 3)?
You can check the CPUC Fire Threat Map by address. Rough shortcut: if you've had a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in the last few years, the answer is almost always yes.
